Medora Musical's Burning Hills Singers
People from all across the world travel to the North Dakota Badlands to take in the scenery and enjoy the Medora Musical. Centered around how Medora came to be and the impact President Teddy Roosevelt had on the state, the storyline of the musical brings audience members back to the days of covered wagons and campfires.
Staying true to their rural roots, Basin Electric and other member cooperatives are making their mark across the rugged Badlands. Basin Electric and Touchstone Energy® Cooperatives of Burke-Divide Electric, KEM Electric, McKenzie Electric, McLean Electric and Verendrye Electric sponsor the Medora Musical's Burning Hills Singers.
Lignite Energy Council Teacher Education Seminar
The Lignite Energy Council's Annual Teacher Education Seminar is held in the spring/early summer. The four-day seminar gives elementary, middle and high school teachers in North Dakota, Minnesota, South Dakota and Montana a first-hand look at North Dakota's fifth largest industry, lignite mining and related energy production.
The seminar is held at Bismarck State College's National Energy Center of Excellence, Bismarck, ND.
