Earl F. Wisdom Generating Station Unit 2 is a Basin Electric peaking power resource.

The unit is a partnership between Basin Electric and Corn Belt Power Cooperative, Humboldt, IA. Corn Belt Power is a member-owner of Basin Electric.

Basin Electric and Corn Belt Power each have a 40-megawatt ownership share in the 80-megawatt natural gas/oil-fired combustion turbine. Corn Belt Power operates and maintain the units.

Wisdom Unit 2 was constructed to provide additional peaking capacity and risk mitigation for Basin Electric, and to satisfy a continuing demand for electricity by the cooperative's member systems. The unit runs during times of peak power demand.
