Urea facility project on track

The project is on schedule for commercial operation by the end of January 2018.

Commissioning of equipment is in full force as construction comes to an end at Dakota Gasification Company’s urea facility construction project.

According to Lucas Teigen, Basin Electric manager of construction and urea project manager, construction is nearly 99 percent complete and the project is on schedule for commercial operation by the end of January 2018.

The urea control room and power supply were commercialized in October, and several contractors are either already offsite, or in the process of demobilizing to exit the job site by mid-December.

“Most of the process systems have been turned over from construction staff to commissioning staff,” Teigen said.
