2022 Winter Member Managers Conference held Feb. 23-24

Basin Electric staff and member cooperative managers met for the 2022 winter Member Managers Conference Feb. 23-24 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

The conference is held twice a year for Basin Electric and member cooperatives to exchange information, share ideas, and work closely on issues.

Sixty-four member attendees learned about updates on Basin Electric’s subsidiary Dakota Gas, the cooperative’s financials, and its 2022 strategic objectives. Information on how Basin Electric is mitigating supply chain issues and inflation impacts to the membership was shared, as well as information on energy emergency alerts and Western Area Power Administration (WAPA) communications since the unprecedented energy emergency that impacted many electric cooperatives a year ago. Presentations also included legislative updates, market updates, and resource and transmission planning updates.

The presentations and supply chain video that were shown during the conference are available to members online at the Basin Members website (login required) under the "meetings" tab and clicking on "Member Managers Conference" at www.basinmembers.com.

Member managers should mark their calendars for the next conference scheduled for July 20-21, 2022 at The Lodge in Deadwood, South Dakota. More details will be shared on the Basin Members website in the coming months.
