Basin Electric Power Cooperative announced today Miles McGrew will join the cooperative as its senior vice president of human resources effective August 1, 2022.

“Miles’ experience makes him a great fit for this role and the cooperative,” said Todd Telesz, Basin Electric chief executive officer and general manager. “He has extensive human resources experience across multiple disciplines and has spent much of his career in the Midwest, so he is familiar with Basin Electric’s service territory and rural America’s values. We are very happy he has accepted this position and look forward to having Miles join our leadership team.”

McGrew has more than 25 years of experience in human resources, international labor relations, mergers and acquisitions, operations with profit and loss responsibility, and organizational development and design. He earned a Master’s degree in public health from the University of Illinois Springfield and a bachelor’s degree in labor relations from Sangamon State University in Springfield.

McGrew has worked in large Fortune 100-sized companies as well as private equity. Prior to accepting this position, he served as the vice president of human resources for Seaboard Triumph Foods, a company of approximately 2,200 employees located in Sioux City, Iowa.

“Basin Electric has a strong reputation within and outside of the electric industry. I am excited to join such a great organization with rich and diverse history and work with the team of talented professionals to serve Basin Electric’s membership,” said McGrew.

McGrew grew up in Galesburg, Illinois, and will be relocating from Iowa to Bismarck with his wife, Hillary. Together they have two college-aged daughters, Riley and Ramsey.
