Oct. 29 the last day to register for 2021 Annual Meeting

Registration for the 2021 Basin Electric Annual Meeting of the Membership will close Friday, Oct. 29. The meeting is scheduled for Nov. 9-11 at the Bismarck Event Center in Bismarck, North Dakota. This year’s theme is Together We are Basin.


Basin Electric members and other guests planning to attend the event can register online at Basin Electric’s Annual Meeting webpage. This page also features a tentative event agendaCOVID-19 protocol information, and locations of nearby hotels and restaurants.

The Annual Meeting will be livestreamed on basinelectric.com. Participants interested in watching online should indicate on their online registration that they plan to attend virtually. They will receive a password to watch the livestream before Nov. 10.

Pre-annual meeting reception

This year’s reception will be held at the Bismarck Event Center on Nov. 9. Heavy hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be served.

New directors, managers, and staff orientation

An orientation session for new directors, managers, and staff will again be offered in conjunction with the Annual Meeting. The orientation will be held on Nov. 9 from 2-4 p.m. at the Bismarck Event Center. This year’s session will provide background on Basin Electric’s history and an overview of current Basin Electric operations. Those interested in attending are encouraged to sign up by selecting the session on the online registration.


The Annual Meeting will be held at the Bismarck Event Center in the exhibit hall. The format will be similar to 2019, when the meeting was last held in person. A full-day meeting will convene Nov. 10 at 8:30 a.m. and conclude at approximately 4:30 p.m. A social and banquet will follow, beginning at 6 p.m. Basin Electric’s 60th anniversary will be celebrated during the banquet.

Rich Karlgaard will be this year’s keynote speaker. Karlgaard, publisher and futurist at Forbes Media, will advise our audience on how to harness technology’s accelerating powers and navigate the unprecedented economic and political uncertainty of the early 2020s.

Shuttle service

Shuttle transportation will be provided to attendees free of charge. During the scheduled times, buses will run in a continuous loop between hotels and the Bismarck Event Center. Buses will stop at the following hotels: EverSpring Inn, Expressway Suites, Fairfield, Radisson, and Ramkota. Buses should be at each stop approximately every 20-30 minutes continuously. Members-Only Meeting
Following the Annual Meeting, there will be a session for members only on Nov. 11, starting at 8:30 a.m. and wrapping up at approximately noon. Attendees are asked to register online by Oct. 29. A separate registration is needed for this meeting. More information is available on basinmembers.com (password required).
