Basin Electric property and right-of-way assistant Glynda Janz was selected to represent region 6 (North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota) on the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association’s (NRECA) Executive and Administrative Professional Council.

The council includes one representative from each of 10 regions across the country. “It represents everyone from the littlest co-ops to the largest G&Ts (generation and transmission cooperative),” Janz said. “Every co-op has something to offer the group.”

The council’s main function is to plan NRECA’s Power Up Conference, an annual conference for administrative professionals and executive assistants to gain practical tools, grow their professional skills, and network with peers from electric cooperatives across the country.

“I’m very excited and humbled to be able to represent Basin Electric and our region on this board,” Janz said. “The industry is changing so rapidly that training and education are more important now than ever. I have a lot to learn and a lot to teach others, so I am excited and looking forward to this great opportunity.”
