COVID-19 vaccination events to be held for Basin Electric employees

After a full year of operating amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Basin Electric employees will have opportunities to be vaccinated later this month.

Custer Health, in coordination with Basin Electric Medical Services, will hold vaccination events at Dakota Gas and Leland Olds Station in late March and early April. Basin Electric’s critical infrastructure workers, as well as its other employees in North Dakota are eligible to register for the vaccination events.

In addition, Coal Country Community Health Center in Beulah, North Dakota, has notified Medical Services that they will soon begin vaccinating essential energy workers. Employees who meet this criteria and would like an additional option for becoming vaccinated can request to be placed on an interest list.

A vaccination event is also planned in March at Laramie River Station in coordination with Platte County Public Health. Plans for vaccinating employees at other locations throughout the cooperative will be communicated as they are available.

“We recently conducted a survey to determine how many employees were interested in receiving the vaccine, so we are confident there will be enough for all employees who wish to have it,” said Dr. Tom Kaspari, Basin Electric on-site physician and medical review officer. “We are excited about finally being able to offer the vaccine to our employees. It will go a long way in helping keep our workforce, and our communities, stay safe and healthy.”
