Basin Electric launches fresh website design, functionality

Basin Electric’s public website,, is refreshed after a project to redesign and migrate the site to a new platform. The launch was completed on Mar. 30. The website features a fresh, modern design with a focus on the value of the cooperative model and diverse resource portfolio front and center.

Tracie Bettenhausen, Basin Electric senior staff writer/editor and editor of the website, said new features include an interactive resource map and simplified navigation. “We want users to know what Basin Electric stands for immediately when they come to our homepage. That means a focus on cooperative values and our all-of-the-above energy strategy. We think the new map of our facilities on the ‘Generation’ page is very handy. You can filter by location and fuel type. It’s a great way to explore the diverse resource portfolio Basin Electric maintains,” she said. “Our new content management system, Cascade, is supported by Hannon Hill, which gives the website better reliability and flexibility to evolve as web trends change.”

Basin Electric’s blog, which was launched in 2008, is now integrated into the new website. Basin Electric: Live Wire, which started on the Wordpress platform, can be found in the News Center. An archive of past blog articles will remain at the former site,

The team that completed the project includes Bettenhausen; Michele Hellman, Basin Electric enterprise applications architect III and project lead; Janene Pudwill, Basin Electric multimedia specialist III/senior graphic designer; and Stanley Moss, Basin Electric senior enterprise applications architect.
