The urea load-out building is taking shape and will be capable of loading 300 tons per hour of urea into railcars.

Dakota Gasification Company’s urea project construction site is buzzing as the overall project reached nearly 80 percent complete, according to Lucas Teigen, Basin Electric manager of construction and urea project manager.

“We have about 625 contract employees on-site, with no recordable safety incidents for the month of May,” he said.

Contractors continue to install wall and roof cladding on the storage building, which is about 83 percent complete, and continue work inside the storage building on retaining walls, floor, and anchor rods for the portal reclaimer rail, which is about 87 percent complete.

Commercial operation is planned by Dec. 31.
