Basin Electric prides itself on giving back to their community. One of the places that has been supported and sponsored by Basin Electric is the Boys & Girls Club of Campbell County located in Gillette, Wyoming.

The Teen Room at the Boys & Girls Club is sponsored by Basin Electric. This room is used by the oldest club members, age ten and older. The club has been able to market the space for the middle school age group within the community to provide a safe space during times they generally might be left at home alone.

Nathan Grotrian, executive director at Boys & Girls Club, says they have been fortunate to have this room sponsored by Basin Electric. “The space has provided our older members a place of their own, away from many elementary school members,” he says. “The space was also utilized and will continue to be for our leadership institute, designed to give our older members the necessary skills to become better leaders in their communities, schools, and homes.”

The Boys & Girls Club is planning to add more graphics from Basin Electric to the walls within the Teen Room soon. Basin Electric is also planning on sending two laptops to the club in the near future.

Nationwide, the Boys & Girls Club helps millions of kids and teens develop essential life skills and make lasting friendships. The club members experience a safe place to learn, play, and grow. The program is dedicated to providing quality after school programming during the summer and most off days during the school year. The Club’s values include collaboration, accountability, respect, empowerment, and safety.

Their activities focus on academic and educational success including science, technology, education, mathematics, and literacy based programming. They also work to develop members’ character with programs on bullying, healthy lifestyle choices, and leadership.
