Bob Engel is CEO of CoBank, the national cooperative bank helping finance the construction of Basin Electric’s new urea facility. This innovative facility will produce 1,100 tons of urea daily, bringing additional value to Basin’s members and rural America’s agricultural industry. 

Engel is responsible for implementing CoBank’s strategic and business direction as set by the board of directors. He says it is a privilege to serve rural America, and is dedicated to doing anything he can to help create more jobs, find ways to add value to products, and create additional opportunities for those who live and work in rural America.

In addition to his position at CoBank, he is a member of the board of directors for the Federal Farm Credit Banks Funding Corporation and is also a member of the Farm Credit System Presidents Planning and Business Practices Committees. He also serves as the chairman of the of the Graduate Institute of Cooperative leadership and on the Executive Council of the National Council of Farmer Cooperatives.
