Employees at the Freedom Mine achieved two years without a lost-time accident on Aug. 10.
The last time employees at the Freedom Mine achieved a similar safety milestone was in May 2008, when employees worked more than three years without a lost-time accident.
The Freedom Mine supplies lignite coal to Leland Olds Station, Antelope Valley Station and the Great Plains Synfuels Plant. The Freedom Mine is owned and operated by The Coteau Properties Company, a subsidiary of the North American Coal Corporation.
