     Ron Harper reception

Ron Harper, Basin Electric CEO and general manager, spent his morning talking with employees at a reception held to say good-bye to him. Harper has retired, and his last day in the office will be Dec. 15. The neck brace Harper is wearing at right is from a recent neck surgery.

Harper spoke briefly to a packed cafeteria. "I learned that when you don't have a smile on your face, it sets the stage for everyone else," Harper said. "I just can't say enough about the opportunity that I've had to be a part of this organization, and to be a part of you."

Linda Thomas, executive assistant also spoke. "The last 10 years have been so rewarding, not only working for Ron and the board of directors, but just getting to be at the front lines of Basin Electric with that man [Harper]; it makes you proud to see how he represented Basin over the years, and the respect and high regard people hold him at. A lot of people don't get to see that, and that’s something I got to experience."

Andrew Serri will take over as CEO and general manager, the fourth ever to hold that position in Basin Electric's history.
