Great Plains Synfuels Plant employees completed 1 million work hours without a lost-time injury or illness on Feb. 2. The last time this was achieved was March 27, 2009.
Bob Fagerstrom, plant manager, said, “This is a great accomplishment, and your continued awareness to safety is appreciated.”
It took employees eight months and 18 days to reach the milestone. “This goal was reached because plant employees have been working diligently to prevent accidents and avoid exposures,” Fagerstrom said. “For this, I offer my sincere appreciation and congratulations.”
“It is important to remember that each of us has the responsibility to work safely as individuals and as a team in order to reach these types of milestones,” he said. “Eliminating the causes of accidents requires everyone’s constant effort. Take the time and initiative to be sure you and your co-workers work in a safe manner.”
