Lynn Beiswanger, Basin Electric Transmission System Maintenance safety coordinator, is scheduled to speak at the 39th Annual North Dakota Safety & Health Conference, to be held in Bismarck Feb. 7-9.
Beiswanger's presentation, "Off-the-job safety: The next piece of the safety puzzle," will focus on helping employees take home what they've learned about safety at work. "Employers can improve their safety culture, reduce injuries and make good training available, but if their workers are injured at home, they still miss work," Beiswanger said. "If employers incorporate an off-the-job safety program into their current program, everyone benefits. Employers are able to maintain work schedules and production levels, and employees avoid needless out-of-pocket medical expenses and the pain and discomfort associate with an injury. This is a win, win situation for all."
Beiswanger will speak Feb. 7 at 3:15 p.m. at the Bismarck Civic Center.
