A BBC news crew toured North Dakota’s Energy Trail June 15.

Peter Day, BBC news reporter, and Arlene Gregorius, BBC producer, visited the Great Plains Synfuels Plant, Antelope Valley Station and the Freedom Mine.

Daryl Hill, Basin Electric supervisor of media and communications, said the crew is working on a story about the impact of coal development. "They wanted to know about some of the challenges associated with coal development. Peter focused on the carbon dioxide capture project at the Synfuels Plant and Basin Electric’s efforts and research into developing carbon capture technology at a conventional coal-based power plant."

As part of the reporting for this story, Day also visited China. The program will air world-wide in August or September.
