Eggl, senior vice president of External Relations and Communications, said he was pleased with the outcome of the meeting. Basin Electric has some deep concerns with the bill, and Eggl said Kerry has committed to working with the cooperative’s staff regarding those concerns. “Kerry has agreed to ensure the Great Plains Synfuels Plant receives appropriate attention in the bill,” Eggl said.
According to Eggl, Kerry has strong convictions about a climate bill and is working diligently to garner support for it. “He was urging us to look at the bill as a driver for clean energy technology for our country,” Eggl said.
Currently, Eggl said they don’t believe the bill has enough votes to pass, but Kerry is pushing to overcome that deficit.
