It's an honor just to play ONE collegiate sport... but Nick Thornton-Jack can now say that he's played TWO!
The U-Mary football star stepped up into the batters box today for the blue and orange.
The senior from Seattle trimmed his trademark long hair during the winter for Locks of Love after reaching his $1,000 goal as part of the St. Baldrick's Foundation.
By doing that, U-Mary baseball coach Brad Walsh promised Nick one at-bat and after waiting all season... his chance came today in Game 1 against Bemidji State.
He struck out on three pitches...but the impact he made getting there was much greater than the impact he would've made with the bat.
(Nick Thornton-Jack:) "I talked to Brad Walsh and he explained to me that there were guys that needed to get AB's before I did and I completely understood what he was talking about and there are guys who have put way more work in then I have and Brad Walsh is a man of his word and I knew that if he says he's going to get me an AB, he was going to get me one. We raised all the money for a really good cause and I think, all-in-all, it was well worth it. "
