The Basin Electric Cooperative is celebrating Thursday's dedication of the PrairieWinds Project south of Minot.
Gov. John Hoeven, representatives from Basin Electric, Verendrye Electric, Ward County and the Western Area Power Administration all took part in the festivities. The project went under construction last august and is now up and running.
Basin Electric Cooperative wanted to thank the people who helped get the $250 million project completed.
The turbines are distributed over 20,000 acres. They position them to get the maximum production of each turbine.
