Basin Electric Power Cooperative has set March 17th for a fundraiser that far exceeded expectations last year. The inaugural year had a goal of five shaved heads, hoping to raise $5,000.
But spokeswoman Mary Klecker-Green said more than 100 heads were shaved, raising $94,000... all going to the St. Baldrick's Foundation, the world's largest volunteer-driven fundraiser for childhood cancer research.

Klecker-Green said the more than 100 men and women who had their heads shaved last year felt good about themselves afterward.

Klecker-Green said in its nine years of existence, The St. Baldrick's Foundation has spread to 18 countries and 48 states, generating more than $50 million.
KFYR 550 AM Radio and Clear Channel Radio plan to report on Basin Electric's St. Baldrick's event regularly through March 17.
