BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - Basin Electric Power Cooperative says it will buy the electricity from a large wind power development planned north of Bismarck.
NextEra Energy Resources is planning the wind farm near Baldwin that will have up to 68 turbines. Basin Electric says it will buy the power under a 30-year contract. It will be the sixth wind project partnership between Basin Electric and NextEra.
The state Public Service Commission has scheduled a May 20 hearing at the state Capitol to allow residents to review NextEra's plans.
Basin Electric generates and transmits electricity to 135 member rural electric systems in nine states.
