Basin Electric Power Cooperative submitted their annual report to the Wyoming Industrial Siting Council this week regarding the Dry Fork Station near Gillette. Basin Electric Spokesperson Daryl Hill explains what the annual report consists of.

Hill said that the report also provided statistics of how the workforce spent their shopping and entertainment dollars. The construction workforce peaked in September of 2009 with 1,307 workers and will continually decline from now until the spring of 2011.

The Dry Fork Station is about 76% complete and is scheduled to go into commercial operation May 2011. When finished the plant will employ an estimated 78 people as part of its permanent workforce. The Dry Fork Station is a coal based plant located just north of Gillette and it will have a net generating capacity of 385-megawatts once online.
