Antelope Valley Station (ND)

  • A coal-fired electric generating station near Beulah, ND.
  • Tours are available Monday through Friday (except holidays) from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
  • Appointments are required.

Great Plains Synfuels Plant (ND)

  • A coal-gasification and byproducts plant near Beulah, ND.
  • Tours are available Monday through Friday (except holidays) at 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.
  • Appointments are required.

Laramie River Station (WY)

  • A coal-fired electric generating station near Wheatland, WY.
  • Tours are available Monday through Friday (except holidays) from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Mountain Time.
  • Appointments are required.

Leland Olds Station (ND)

  • A coal-fired electric generating station near Stanton, ND.
  • Tours are available Monday through Friday (except holidays) from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Central Time.
  • Appointments are required.

Spirit Mound Station (SD)

  • An oil-fired peaking station near Vermillion, SD.
  • Tours are available Monday through Friday (except holidays) from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Central Time.

Clean power plants

In 1997, former senior vice president of Operations & Engineering, Rich Fockler, reflected on a 35-year Basin Electric tradition of maintaining power plants at optimum levels of industrial hygiene and performance maintenance.

He said, “If you drop your sandwich on the turbine bay floor at any of our power plants, you can pick it up and eat it.”
