Application Process

Candidates interested in a current posted opening must complete an application for employment. Resumes will not be accepted as applications; however, a resume may be attached to the application.

All applications will be reviewed. After reviewing all applications, supervisors will select those applicants they wish to interview and interviews will be scheduled. A verbal/written offer will be  made to the successful candidate.

Basin Electric and its subsidiaries conduct criminal background checks for the previous seven years on all full-time and part-time positions along with a social security number trace on all positions prior to a job offer. All job offers are contingent upon satisfactory completion of a drug screen. Job offers for full-time and part-time positions are also contingent upon satisfactory completion of a physical examination. Additionally, some positions require driving record checks.

All applicants will receive a letter notifying them that the position has been filled after an offer has been extended and accepted. The status of current posted openings is available on our Web site.

• Basin Electric's policy is to accept an employment application ONLY for a current job opening.
• Basin Electric will not accept more than one completed application in a 12-month period.
• Applications remain active for three (3) months only for the initial position an individual applies for.  In order to renew an application, contact Human Resources in person, in writing or by e-mail. Applications are kept on file for one (1) year. Original applications may be updated if applying for another current job opening during this 12-month period.

If you wish to fill out an application electronically, download the Word format, make a copy to your local computer, fill out the fields and e-mail it back to us as an attachment to your e-mail.

If you prefer to complete a hard copy of the application, download either the Word or Adobe Acrobat version, print it out, fill it out by hand and then mail or fax it to us. All mailing addresses, phone and fax numbers are on the application, or you can refer to our contact information.

Exception: DOT applications are available only by contacting  Human Resources-Bismarck or Human Resources-Wheatland, WY  An application will be mailed to you.
