Daryl Hill gives tour of new lobby to interns

Daryl Hill, media relations supervisor, leads a tour of
Headquarters for a student group.

Basin Electric's paid internships run parallel with students attending regular full-time classes. Internships are available in a variety of professional positions. Students work part-time while attending school and full-time during the summer months. The internship is flexible, working around the students' classroom schedule. Internships typically run from 18-24 months.

Basin Electric, along with other utility companies, also works hand-in-hand with Bismarck State College's Power Plant Technology/Process Plant Technology Program. An internship has been implemented as part of the curriculum whereby students must intern at a power plant. This is a paid two-week ONLY internship.

Students interested in gaining a meaningful work experience should contact their college advisor, department chairperson or placement office located at the educational institution they are attending. Internships may be located at Headquarters in Bismarck or at a plant facility.

Cooperative Education Program

This program is designed to assist students in applying their education to productive work experiences in their field of study by offering full-time paid work instead of regular classes.

To be eligible for the Cooperative Education Program, students must take a semester or two away from college.

Basin Electric pays the cost of tuition and fees for credits received for Cooperative Education Program work experience. The maximum credits allowable per semester will be four.

Placements are available in a variety of professional positions. Students may be placed at Headquarters in Bismarck or at a plant facility.

Students interested in gaining a meaningful work experience should contact their college advisor, department chairperson or placement office located at the educational institution they are attending.

Student placements usually take place in the spring or fall, but are also done as workforce needs dictate.
