  • Two options available: Traditional 401(k) and Roth 401(k)
  • Basin Electric contributes/matches a percentage of employee contribution based on employment status

   Dental insurance

  • Coverage starts on the first of the month following three months of employment
  • Premiums paid by Employer for Denta 50
  • Employee pays difference in premium for Denta 150
  • Part-time employee is eligible for a single Denta 50 dental plan
  • Part-time employee pays difference in premium for other than a single Denta 50 plan

   Dependent life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance

  • Coverage available for spouse and eligible dependent children. 
  • Coverage starts the first of the month following three months of employment
  • Premiums paid by employee through payroll deduction

   Educational assistance

  • Full-time employees who complete undergraduate or graduate course work at a local/regional accredited educational institution in an approved program may be reimbursed 50 percent of the cost of tuition, fees and texts, depending on the business relationship of the courses
  • Part-time employees may be eligible for pro-rated reimbursement

   Employee Assistance Program

  • Offers confidential help in areas of personal concern and difficulty
  • Includes emotional crisis; individual, marital, and parenting concerns; financial and legal difficulties; chemical addiction evaluation; and work-related problems
  • The Cooperative will provide up to eight appointments with an employee assistance counselor for each problem

   Flexible spending accounts

  • Two separate accounts: Dependent Care Account and Health Care Account
  • Dependent Care Accounts are used to pay for child care expenses while employee and spouse are working
  • Health Care Accounts are used to pay out-of-pocket expenses such as deductibles, co-insurances, and other medical expenses not covered by insurance
  • Contributions are pretax and begin the first of the month following date of employment
  • Minimum pay period contribution of $5; maximum pay period contribution of $208

   Life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance

  • Coverage determined by rounding up base annual salary to next thousand
  • Coverage starts on the first of the month following three months of employment
    Employer provides 2X coverage
  • Employee can purchase up to 3X additional coverage through payroll deduction
  • Coverage maximum of $1,000,000 for life insurance
  • Coverage maximum of $1,000,000 for AD&D insurance

   Long-term care

  • Includes nursing home, assisted living, home care, respite care, bed reservation, alternate care, caregiver training, and equipment
  • Different options available
  • Premiums paid by employee through payroll deduction

   Long-term disability insurance

  • 90-day waiting period
  • Pays 60 percent of predisability salary or 70 percent of all sources of income
  • Payment begins after 90 days of total disability
  • Premiums paid by Employer

   Medical insurance

  • Coverage starts the first day of employment
  • Premiums paid by employer
  • Part-time employee is eligible for a single medical plan
  • Part-time employee pays difference in premium for other than a single plan

   PC loan program

  • Employees configure and purchase their own computer system and repay the loan per the terms of the loan agreement through payroll deduction.

   Retirement program

  • Waiting period based on employment status
  • Normal retirement is age 62
  • Retirement benefits are calculated using a predefined benefit formula
  • Premiums paid by Employer

  • Coverage starts on the first of the month following the first day of employment
  • Enrollment in plan is for a 24-month period
